Terms of Service
Table of contents
By reading these Terms, you agree to MarineLab3D's conditions of use. If you disagree, please do not use the site. For questions, write to info@marinelab3d.com.
1. Parties and acceptance
This agreement is between MarineLab3D (the "Platform") and the user accessing marinelab3d.com (the "User" or "Buyer").
By completing a purchase or registering on the site, the User declares to have read, understood and fully accepted these Terms of Service, as well as our Privacy Policy.
The User must be at least 18 years old, or if a minor, act under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these terms.
2. The service
MarineLab3D is a digital marketplace that enables:
- The purchase of digital files (primarily STL, STEP, ZIP files) for 3D printing of nautical accessories, spare parts and components
- Submission of custom design requests ("briefs") that are proposed to platform creators
- Access to technical guides on 3D printing materials and technologies
MarineLab3D acts as an intermediary between Buyers and Creators. The Platform does not physically manufacture any object — purchased files must be printed by the User or through a 3D printing service of their choice.
3. Digital products
3.1 Nature of the product
Products sold on MarineLab3D are digital goods: downloadable computer files (STL, OBJ, STEP, ZIP, PDF). No physical object is delivered, unless explicitly stated on the product page.
3.2 Delivery
After confirmed payment, the file is available for download within a few minutes. The download link is sent to the email address provided at checkout. The download remains available for 2 years from the purchase date.
If you experience technical issues with the download, contact us at info@marinelab3d.com within 30 days of purchase.
3.3 Compatibility
STL files are compatible with most slicing software (Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, Cura, etc.). MarineLab3D does not guarantee compatibility with specific software, printers or materials, unless stated on the product page. Recommended print settings (material, infill, supports) are included in the product description where available.
4. Licence
4.1 Personal licence (private use)
By purchasing a file on MarineLab3D, you obtain a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence that authorises you to:
- Print the file for personal use, with no limit on the number of prints
- Modify the file to adapt it to your personal needs
- Print copies for personal use or as gifts (non-commercial use)
4.2 Restrictions
⚠️ Unless otherwise agreed in writing with MarineLab3D, it is prohibited to: resell the file (even modified) on other platforms, distribute it for free online, print and sell derivative objects commercially, or share the file with third parties.
4.3 Commercial licence
If you intend to use the file for commercial production and sale, contact us at info@marinelab3d.com to discuss a commercial licence with the creator.
4.4 Intellectual property
Files remain the intellectual property of the creator who designed them. MarineLab3D holds distribution rights on the platform. The purchase of a file does not transfer any intellectual property rights to the Buyer.
5. Payments
Payments are handled by Shopify Payments / Stripe. MarineLab3D does not store credit card data. Prices are expressed in your local currency and include applicable VAT or taxes according to current regulations.
The sales contract is concluded when MarineLab3D receives payment confirmation from the payment processor and sends an order confirmation email to the User.
6. Refunds and right of withdrawal
6.1 Digital goods and withdrawal waiver
As digital downloadable goods, the right of withdrawal does not apply once the download has been initiated and the User has expressly consented to waiving this right before beginning the download.
By completing a digital file purchase, the User gives such explicit consent.
6.2 Refunds for technical issues
Notwithstanding the above, we offer a refund or replacement in the following cases:
- The file is inaccessible or cannot be downloaded due to platform-side technical issues
- The file is corrupted or does not match the published description
- Double charge or payment error
To request support, write to info@marinelab3d.com within 14 days of purchase, providing your order number and description of the issue.
7. Creators and content
Files on MarineLab3D are uploaded by independent creators ("Creators"). MarineLab3D reviews files before publication, but cannot guarantee that:
- Files are free of defects or optimised for every printer
- Print results exactly match preview images (images may represent 3D renders or high-quality prints)
- Printed components replace OEM-certified parts for safety-critical applications
⚠️ Safety: Do not use 3D-printed components in applications where failure could cause harm to persons or vessels without having verified the technical specifications with a qualified professional.
8. Custom requests (briefs)
The custom request service allows Users to describe a project and receive offers from specialised creators. The following conditions apply:
- Submitting a request does not constitute a purchase commitment. The User is free to accept or reject received offers
- Requests expire after 7 days: after this period, creators can no longer submit offers
- Once an offer is accepted and payment is completed, the same licence conditions as for digital products (section 4) apply
- Files delivered by a creator following a brief are covered by a delivery guarantee: if the file is not delivered by the agreed deadline, the User is entitled to a full refund
- MarineLab3D retains a portion of the transaction as a service commission
9. Limitation of liability
MarineLab3D provides the service "as is" and cannot be held liable for:
- Unsatisfactory print results due to incorrect printer settings or inadequate materials
- Direct or indirect damages arising from the use (or non-use) of purchased files
- Temporary service interruptions due to maintenance or force majeure
- Loss of files by the User after download (keep a backup copy)
- Third-party content linked from the site
In any case, MarineLab3D's maximum liability to the User is limited to the amount paid for the specific order in dispute.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by applicable law. For any dispute relating to the interpretation or performance of these Terms, the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the competent court.
For consumers in the European Union, the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform is available at: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
